If any of you are like me and have been glued to the TV following the Olympics for the last two weeks, it's probably a good thing that they conclude tomorrow so that we can get back to a regular schedule. However, I will miss all of the daily excitement….go Canada!!
Getting back on to a regular schedule may involve that you draw up a study timeline in preparation for the Canadian Registered Nurses Exam (CRNE) on June 2, 2010.
It might feel very overwhelming to study for a test that examines al the content that you have learned over a four year period, however we would suggest picking up a copy of the Canadian Nurses Association's Canadian Exam Prep Guide-5th edition. Now, remember that this book is a supplementary guide to your studying and you will need to access your text books and notes to have a comprehensive review.
Many students find studying for this exam daunting and benefit from attending an organized CRNE review session. PRIMED Educational Associates offers these types of workshops.
If you would like to receive a $50 discount off a PRIMED CRNE workshop, sign up by April 1 to get early registration rate of $300.
Registration is now open for the following courses:
April 10-11, 2010 Langara College, Vancouver
April 24-25, 2010 University of Calgary, Calgary
May 8-9 St. Paul's Hospital Conference Centre, Vancouver
In addition, when you register you will automatically be entered into a random draw for a free PRIMED course. If you win, you will be notified via e-mail and your registration will be refunded at the time of the course.

Canadian Nurses volunteer at Vancouver 2010 Olympics!
PRIMED Education would like to give a big thank you to all the medical volunteers including nurses who are providing expert care during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics and Paralympics Games.
Marlene and Laura personally know many of their friends and colleagues who have taken unpaid leave or used their own vacation time to volunteer for the games. These medical volunteers are providing amazing care to the injured and ill here in Vancouver and in Whistler.
A big thank you as you are vital to delivering safe games.

CRNBC tutor list
As many of you know, Laura Housden and Marlene Burrows are official Canadian Registered Nurses Exam (CRNE) tutors, approved by the College of Registered Nurses of BC (CRNBC).
Recently, Laura and Marlene received a letter from the CRNBC stating that it was no longer the Colleges mandate as a regulatory body to maintain a tutor list. This list was originally developed when the CRNBC was the Registered Nurses Association of BC (RNABC) and apparently the tutor list is not consistent with the CRNBCs mandate. As a result the policies have been rescinded and CRNBC will no longer approve tutors or maintain a list of approved tutors.
We understand how disconcerting this must be to many of you as you rely on a professional organization such as the CRNBC to give you contact information of reliable and legitimate tutors who will help prepare you for the CRNE. However, don’t worry Laura and Marlene will continue to offer their exceptional tutoring through their group tutoring service PRIMED Educational Assoc.
We currently are three upcoming dates for CRNE prep sessions:
April 10-11, 2010 Langara College, Vancouver BC
April 24-25, 2020 University of Calgary, Calgary AB
May 8-9, 2010 St. Paul’s Hospital Conference Centre, Vancouver BC
In addition, PRIMED Ed. Assoc. will travel to your community if you are able to organize a large enough group, please contact us at info@primededucation.ca if you are interested in this option.
